This program is customized on a case-by-case basis. Each dog undergoes an evaluation to assess temperament, impulse control (on/off switch), adaptability, and baseline desensitization to various stimuli.
Once accepted, each dog receives customized training based on the specific tasks needed by the handler. These may include:
Mobility assistance (e.g., bracing, retrieving dropped items, opening doors)
Psychiatric support (e.g., deep pressure therapy, interrupting panic attacks, reminding to take medication)
Neurological response (e.g., alerting to seizures, providing a buffer in crowded spaces, grounding during sensory overload)
Throughout the program, we also work closely with the handler to ensure a strong bond and effective communication, both critical for long-term success. Our goal is to prepare a highly reliable, task-trained service dog that enhances independence, safety, and emotional well-being
During training, we work closely with the handler to build confidence and communication skills when interacting with the public, businesses, and first responders. We also teach them the key rights and responsibilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), including how to respond to questions and advocate for themselves and their service dog.teen total sessions.
